I couldn't tell you when my interest in infrastructure type things started to influence me. As far back as I can remember i always liked to look at telephone polls, electric wires, pipes, air conditioners, and anything that was part of the constructed landscape. Most recently starting about a year ago I became obsessed with power generators and AC units that are sprinkled everywhere from your local supermarket to the trailer park in Kentucky. What fascinated me and still fascinates me about these structures are how they are integrated so seamlessly into our landscape so that we rarely know they are there. Furthermore the amazing diversity in these structures is fantastic! There are so many shapes sizes and colors all chosen to fit into the landscaped parking lot like a puzzle piece. There are many more reasons I like these modern sculptures but I won't bore you. I'll save the intrigues of my interest for later posts. This blog will be devoted to:
- Discovering new generators lurking in our landscape
- Exhibiting generator portraits
- Presenting generator bios
- Providing more information on where you can adopt a generator yourself.
